Hot springs, warmed by Yasur Volcano, flow over the
beach and into the sea at Sulphur Bay. The villagers
do their laundry and bathe in the hot water.
You are welcome to soak in the hot water and then
run down the beach and leap into the cool sea to chill
out. This is great fun and reportedly excellent health
therapy.
The hot springs are 3.5 km from your Tanna accommodation
at Friendly Bungalows, located near to the Jon Frum
village. It takes 30 minutes to walk there and we recommend
that you take a guide from the nearby village. There is a small entry fee.
